REELSOUNDS
Since its inception in 1996, Reelsounds has been a creative mainspring for the Chicagoland music scene and beyond.
Since its inception in 1996, Reelsounds has been a creative incubatorfor the Chicagoland music scene and beyond.
Founded by Mark “Mouse” Brunner and friends (Home Team), Reelsounds was an important place of hang and inspiration. Hammer in hand and beer in another, Reelsounds was built out over 10 years as a unique, purely analog recording studio in the Midwest. In 2003, it was officially branded “Reelsounds Studio”, and a decade and a half later, the final tape machine broke.
In 2020, after Mouse’s earthly transition, Mouse’s family reimagined Reelsounds Studio business, and began foundational renovation. Brandon, Mouse’s son, who intimately worked with him for eight years, envisioned the acoustic philosophy and sound design of the reimagined studio. The family established Reelsounds around the legacy community that built it, and expanded the world class studio to feel like home to be enjoyed for decades to come.
Since Reelsounds Studio’s re-opening, new friends and professionals come to enjoy creative pursuits in the space. The Reelsound family maintains a safe, accessible, and intentional space inclusive of any and all creators.
